Lost on Black Mountain Third Story in Flaugherty Twins Mysteries Collection
PITTSBURGH, PA – Lost on Black Mountain, the third book in the Flaugherty Twins Mysteries series has just been published. This book joins with the first two titles of the series, Mystery at the Haunted Castle and Mystery on Campus, and is now available through Amazon, Barnes & Noble, and other locations.
In Lost on Black Mountain, author Paul D. McDonald introduces the first characters who are explicitly Christian and who witness to their faith, even praying “in Jesus’ name.” With these characters to encourage the twins, it will begin to awaken a faith in them that they didn’t even realize they had.
“These are not religious stories,” McDonald declares. “They’re just good old-fashioned mystery stories similar to the Hardy Boys or Nancy Drew that happen to involve characters who are growing in faith. Faith will play a role in some of the situations the characters encounter and will begin to inform their decisions and determine how they react in those situations.”
Lost on Black Mountain begins with the Flaugherty twins, Pat and Patty, volunteering to help some friends who run a summer camp in the mountains to help delinquent children. What starts as an innocent summer adventure quickly leads to mystery and intrigue as several incidents happen at camp that cause the twins to believe there is a criminal element afoot. And when Pat disappears, Patty suspects the worst from some of the juveniles.
Will Patty and Bob be able to decode the mysterious symbol they find at the “crime” scenes? Will Pat be able to escape his ordeal and return to the camp safely? These, and other questions, will be answered in the pages of Lost on Black Mountain.
The Flaugherty Twins Mystery Series was written originally for middle graders but is enjoyed by cozy mystery readers of all ages. The books are intriguing mystery stories, written from a Christian worldview. The main characters are Irish American and Catholic, and as the series continues, the elements of the teens’ heritage and faith will begin to play more of a role in their detective work.
