Summer camp is a wonderful time to just sit back and relax and enjoy nature. Roasting marshmallow for s’mores around the campfire, telling ghost stories, hikes through nature, and quiet afternoons out on the lake.
Such is the idyllic setting for the third installment of the Flaugherty Twins Mysteries, Lost on Black Mountain.
One afternoon, Pat finds himself out in the woods with the Ranger Margo Hernandez. (I won’t do a spoiler by telling you why they are there.) As he sits down on a rock to take a breather, he spies a rattlesnake only a few feet from him, poised and ready to strike. It is this moment that is captured in the second vignette by artist Jeff McKeever.
Will Pat be bitten by the poisonous snake? Will Margo be able to help him by instructing him what to do to save his life? Will the two get out of the woods unharmed?
Stayed tuned for more mystery from the newest edition of the Flaugherty Twins’ Mystery series, Lost on Black Mountain.
