In the first two installments of the Flaugherty Twins Mysteries, we met Pat and Patty Flaugherty, fraternal twins who have a penchant for getting themselves involved in mysteries. What starts out as an innocent attempt to help a friend usually ends up uncovering a mystery that leads them to expose some nefarious criminal element.
In the first mystery, Mystery at the Haunted Castle, the twins offer to help a family friend by visiting her niece in France. They are carrying a gift for her, not knowing it contains a secret that will put them in danger. Once arriving at the niece’s castle, they are confronted by a ghostly knight who attempts to frighten them into leaving. How do all these incidents connect to the international jewel thieves who have stolen Patty’s ring?
In the second mystery, Mystery on Campus, Pat and Patty attempt to help an old friend who is now in college. They know something is wrong, yet he hesitates to ask for help. As they ponder how to help him, he is nearly arrested for passing counterfeit money. The twins follow the mystery to the college campus and are confronted with more disturbing situations that somehow all point to their friend’s guilt. Can they help prove his innocence? Or will evil forces snuff out their friend before they have a chance?
Lost on Black Mountain, the third installment of the Flaugherty Twins Mysteries, finds our brother-sister duo helping out a friend’s family by volunteering at a summer camp in the mountains. Several incidents have happened at the camp that are becoming increasingly more serious, and the twins must determine if these are just pranks, or is it criminal activity? How does the pickpocket at the train station tie in? Or the burglaries at neighboring estates? What about the mysterious cult that lives across the lake?
Once more, Pat and Patty must unravel the clues and face danger in order to resolve the situation and help their friends. Lost on Black Mountain will be available in the near future from various retailers. Get your copy soon. And if you haven’t yet picked up one of the first two books, now is the time.
