Lost on Black Mountain, the third book in the Flaugherty Twins Mysteries series, introduces some new characters that will appear periodically throughout the series. Barb Alexander is one of Bob Daily’s older sisters. She and her husband, Rev. Doug Alexander, run a church-sponsored summer camp in the mountains. They have been doing this each summer for the last three years, ever since Doug graduated from seminary and took the position of youth pastor at his church.
Doug is a serious guy, and his wife, Barb is a loving woman. They created the summer camp to help the inner-city children who visit the drop-in center at their church. They have also agreed to take in some juvenile offenders as part of their community service following misdemeanor charges. They believe the children can have a chance at a better life by learning about survival in the wild.
However, they are not prepared for the string of criminal activities that takes place in their third year of operation. Barb contacts her brother, Bob, to ask if his friends, Pat and Patty Flaugherty, can come to the camp to help them find out what’s going on. And so begins the third adventure in the Flaugherty Twins Mysteries series, Lost on Black Mountain.
Will the twins be able to figure out who is behind the criminal “pranks” at the camp? When Pat disappears, will Patty and Bob be able to rescue him in time? What about the mysterious cult across the lake? How do they fit with all the criminal activities?
